Support the Recruitment, Selection and Induction of Staff

The role of Human Resources is to manage the workforce within a business environment but before that it comes with the process of hiring or recruitment proper candidate who can work on reaching to the organizational goal. Therefore this module will consist with the broad area of recruitment, selection and the induction of the workers within a workplace. This course is for those students who want to pursue themselves in the HR management process and the participants also can enrol themselves in this course. This course has been associated with the Curtin University which is situated in Australia and will discuss about different process of recruitment and applying those talented workers to proper area will also be taken into consideration. Different theories and process will be discussed in the module to let the employees know about how to implement those in order to ensure about the effectiveness in managing workers.

The pool to hire talent in the global market in today’s era is very competitive and big market. The leaders might not be capable enough to bring talent for the operational process without having proper strategies. In order to start the entire process there are three areas that an organization needs to work on such as Recruitment, Selection and Induction. Now this module will let the students know about different areas and factors related to these three stages of HR activities and those will be discussed as follows: Recruitment: before going into the depth of recruitment process an organization required to identify the needs and requirements for recruitment. By identifying the position for recruitment, an organization needs to plan for posting an ad on different platforms based on which it can attract the suitable target audience. The post needs to be structured or designed or must be stated about the requirement criteria so that only specific people who can fulfil those criteria will apply for the post. Without letting the interest people know about the post in a proper way, the HR management of an organization might not get suitable candidate for the post. The post of recruitment should state about the salary structure, the educational qualification, skills and experience level so that participants can understand about the post in a proper way. In addition to that, being specific about the duties and responsibilities of the task can help the candidates to apply or include themselves in the process of recruitment. An example can be effective to understand the situations where let’s assume an organization wants to recruit an IT person for IT related issues of an organization. Now for that the organization have to post certain ad where everything related to the task, criteria and many more other things will be stated which can attract the IT experienced candidate. This is because an organization might not hire a fresher in this field of IT because it is not that common task for anyone because the issues, queries and tasks related to IT can be properly done by experienced people. The HR management does not only think about the short term because finding and hiring skilled and talented workers cannot be done always, rather retaining the skilled workers is the key consideration for every business. In also needs to keep in mind that recruitment does not only mean to hire people from outside rather by promoting and transferring people in different offices and positions is also called as recruitment process. Selection: Now after finding candidates from different external way such as recruiting people from different campuses, agencies and in other ways, it needs to select people from the long list. The first and foremost things about selection are the short listing of the candidates who have filled the requirement form for selection. After identifying those who are suitable for the post are shortlisted for the process of selection. This stage of selection can be done in different paths where an organization needs to choose testing different attributes of candidates, mental ability test, intelligence test, personality test and many more other things depends on company to company. Those who will pass the basic stages will be short listed for the final rounds or interviews. Before going to final stage, the HR management can ensure about the most appropriate candidates for the post. Based on the process of interview the panel of interviewers ensure about short listing the final candidates for the business operation and process. Dependent on different interviews process and stages an organization can understanding the mental ability and behaviour of the candidates which let the interviewers to make decision on whom to select and whom to reject. Induction: this is the last stage where after recruiting and selecting candidates, then it comes up with the process of induction where it let the workers understand about where they have to work for the business process. Letting the candidates know properly about the task roles and responsibilities, will ensure about the confidence among the new hired people so that they do not get confused about their roles and tasks. Based on the process of induction the role of HRs comes into consideration among the managerial process of managing the existing and new hired people. Both are necessary for the organization to deal with the operational activities. In addition to that in the process of induction it will also ensure about different policies of the organization to make sure that each and every new recruited people can have proper knowledge about these things.
